We envision a sustainable future where natural resources are used judiciously and a society free of health ailments.
Our primary goal along with socio-economic upliftment is to upscale our activities in relation to preserving natural resources and focusing our activities around sustainability. We aim to reach other districts in Karnataka over the next few years.
The Non-Formal Education will be given in a place called NFE centers, It stands for motivation, Education enlighten and training in the villages, meeting center will pay very important role meeting center is placed for stream line thinking educate the people in development process. These centers review rural traditional educational programmes like games, Group discussions to find solutions. PRAZWALA is running 12 Non-formal Adult education centers for Rural illiterates with the support of Zilla Saksharatha Samiti. (Literacy Mission), Implemented 4 IED (Integrated Education Development Programmes) in 4 Schools with the support of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan dept of Education, and Runned Skill Development Training Programmes for Unemployed youths with the support of City Municipal council Chitradurga. Runned Child Labour Schools at Channagiri Taluk for 70 Childrens and Conducted Awareness Programme on Health and Sanitisation for Adoloscent School Girl Students with the support of Sarva Shiks
Women Empowerment Program
PRAZWALA is working in 48 Grama Panchayaths, 158 Villages & slums of Chitradurga, Davanagere, Shimoga, and Chikkamagaluru & Udupi Districts of Karnataka State. The focal thrust of the organization is addressing the issues pertaining to poor, marginalized, minority, tribal children & women, The organization in the last 20 years, has been associated with different NGO forums, has formed above 300 SHGs, 10 Federations, 40 Common Interest Groups(Farmers Group), 6 progressive forums in the state and playing a vital role in organizing the poor and marginalized section to defend their rights on health, environment, education, employment and other issues.
Community Health & Sanitation Activities
PRAZWALA organization has organized awareness training programmes and camps on healthy and hygienic environment. Tree plantation, construction of toilets, installation of non-formal energies (solar system), these topics were talked about in the program. In addition, we have organized 10 human and 52 animal health camps. PRAZWALA has conducted Health Check-up camp and Animal Health camps, awareness program conducted on Mother and Child Health, Immunization, Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Polio, T.B with the support of NABARD, WDD, Local Health Departments and doctors.
Organic Farming Project
The Organic farming method in the field of agriculture PRAZWALA is implementing the project at Thuppadahally Grama Panchayath & Hire Emmiganur Grama Panchayaths in Holalakere Taluk of Chitradurga District with the Support of National Horticulture Mission (NHM). Channagiri taluk in collaboration with CAPART is working for to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and shift to organic farming methods with participatory approach. We also conducted Gramasabha, Baseline Survey, Formation of Organic Farmers Group, Training, Construction of Organic manure units, Vermicompost Units,Group Certification, Storage of Organic Products.
Community Based Tank Management Project
Community-Based Tank Management Project supported by Jala Samvardhana Yojana Sangha (JSYS) PRAZWALA was successfully implemented at Thirthahalli Taluk and Hosanagara Taluks of Shivamogga District. Selected 48 Tanks and covered 85 Villages. The project has been implemented with the participatory approach through the IEC activities, community mobilization, conducting Baseline Survey, Grama Sabha, PRA, Training, and formation of Tank Users Group, Women Self-help Groups. Conducting Tanks Related Income Generation Activities like Fisheries, Block Plantation and other Strengthening of Tank Bund, Turning and Tank desiltation Construction/Strengthening of Raja Kaluve, Catchment areas Nala Treatment Activities Jungle Clearance, Plantation work, etc., And formed 80 SHGs, 4 Federations, and 48 Tank user groups.
Integrated Watershed Development Project
PRAZWALA was implemented Integrated Watershed development project at Chitradurga, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Udupi Districts. The covered area around 18513 Hectares and more than 18,000 farmers are benefited in these projects in 30 villages.
